Ender's Game
« on: March 25, 2013, 05:34:44 PM »

The movie. First poster. I hope it's awesome and doesn't ruin one of my favorite books.

Its not like Hollywood to screw with a sci-fi classic.  Why just look at Starship Troopers...  :(

Okay then.. I googled a short summary of the story and I think I'm gonna go see if my library has the book.. It seems like a really awesome book. :P

Almost like seeing the Hobbit and then saying 'Damn books ripping off Hollywood and doing a condensed version that does not even cover all three movies and all the characters'.  Thwack.

Yes, he likes that, Alfie. Though personally he prefers to be called Stormaggedon, Dark Lord of All.

I just don't understand how they can do an Ender's Game movie. They have to change so many things...
Like they have to change Ender killing two students (the one in the beginning and the one in the showers). Heck, can they even do the shower fight scene considering how hard it would be to cover up the naughty bits? I mean, it's not like these were even minor plot points but major ones (the first death got Ender into the Battle School, the second one transferred him into Command School early). There are multiple other moments they would have to change as well. If they're also combining Ender's Shadow into this movie...I don't see how they can do so many of the plot points without significantly changing them.
I could see a well-done European version of this movie but I just can't see a Hollywood one being the same thing.

I always cringe when I here that a story I like is being made into a movie...

Hmmm...

I like the formic ship designs...but was that scene from the second invasion? Or the first? Has to be the first, they're still flying F35s.

And was that alien planet they're landing on suppose to be Eros?  ???

It looks decent, I guess.

They could change the scene to just before or after the shower when they have clothes on to avoid nudity. As for deaths they will have to be in there but they don't need to be graphic. Unless they are just making their own version of it that is completely different to the book (which wouldn't surprise me)
