Pathea - After Earth[marked]
« on: March 07, 2013, 02:47:20 PM »

 Greetings,

Apparently, there are other people who had the same idea recently...

This movie trailer looks like an exact copy of Planet Explorers ideas, the danger for humans, the crashlanding of a human spaceship on a Class 1 Planet, full of life, the survival between huge animals and monsters, and even the sentient "aliens", even though they are more like, dunno... mutant humans, cus that planet they crashed on, was Earth, abandoned 1000 years ago, and everything there evolved expertising in killing humans (after they practically killed the planet, before abandoning it).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzHbdlSKX1w

There are parts of it which even look like Pathea's intro, just that it's copyrighted and cannot be used in a game which will actually be sold, and gain profit. It's only usable for free games, for educational and entertainment purposes.

What are your ideas about it ?

The coincidence that the trailer is not much after the beggining of this game, was it probably an inspiration model, or it's just coincidence ?

 Have fun,
-Mike

The ship crashing on a planet isn't exactly unique, heh. But I'm looking forward to the film. But knowing what the director did to the Avatar movie.... >:(

For PE, the influences are Ender's Game, Faces of Ceti, The Knife of Never Letting Go, Advancing Giants, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, a little bit of The Oregon Trail, and history of colonization.
