Ore Location Sites.
« on: March 06, 2013, 05:10:24 PM »

This thread is going to list your Mining Operations and where they are.  As a community, we need to find out where all the potential ores are.  This way, we can test thing in things such as the Creation Editor and such.  In addition, we can figure out if ores have greater quantities at certain elevations and such.

Okay!  I tested some old spots.  I will post a Material and any coordinates you can find them.  If you find them outside any pointed locations, then please post and I will update this.  This will essentially be a Story Mode Mine Me Guide!
Meteorite Crash Site
Meteorite Crash Site
Alien Head Statue, beneath it.. Its visible.
Beneath Strange Rock Formation you meet Loa Lei at.

just outside the Meteorite Crash Site

Under the strange rock formation you first find Lao Lei at.

(9472, 6786) - It is under water.  With .53 you can just go right above and dig straight down.  There is also Marble here.

-None Yet Implemented-

Behind any crashed Life Boat
(9472, 6786) - There is aluminum here underwater below the marble.  The marble is above water

Okay... if you need help finding this then you REALLY aren't digging deep enough or on any mountain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone has mines at locations not mentioned, please mention it and your findings.   If we can make a list of places to mine for ores, we can make this easier.

For some odd reason (I'm going to guess for color, not for realism), all of the downed ships leave grey/black trenches behind them from when they crashed.  These are made entirely of marble.

I think the problem is that you're only finding ground level ores at the moment. I think when we have the ground scanner in, it'll be much easier and more fun to look for the ores (some will be hundreds of meters underground). Same for caves, once that's in, you'll have another ecosystem to explore.

Of course Zifea.  That's why this thread is up.   We will all systematically explore every mountain with mining nodes to slowly find any deposits we can.   I didn't even know about iron at the eagle head site!

As such, my main meteorite is going to go as deep as I can safely and then I'm going to expand out into a giant underground network thats WELL LIT TO AVOID THOSE MOTHER F'ING CRABS!

Heh, now that I got that out of the way, lets all post mining locations we've tried, and I will update the main post with new mining sites based on your sites.

There is indeed quite a bit of iron under the head statue.

Okay!  So let future posts be about mining locations not yet listed!  If anyone finds diamonds, we must exploit this!

There are no diamonds on the map at the moment...but I'll give you some coordinates:

10696, 7141 - this is right below Adisa and Lao, gold, silver, iron, copper.
9472, 6786 - aluminum
12285, 7006 - silver
11367, 7803 - iron

I think you had a typo on Aluminum's location.  At those coordinates, the ore would need to be deep under water.  We'd have to die constantly from drowning in order to mine it.

Adding in the 1/10th resource penalty on death, that would make this HIGHLY ineffective.
