Haven't really paid any attn to anime for years now.  I liked Akira, Bubblebum Crises and Tank Police but then I made the mistake of watching Lensman and walked away shaking my head in disgust.  E.E. "Doc" Smith happens to one of many favorite authors...

I just started watching Tears to Tiara.   Decent show.  They did a very good job at the Scottish/Celtic Accents.   One thing I don't get... Their culture is F'd up.  Simply putting a red scarf on some one makes it so your married to them.   Also, why does the LITTLE sister have the scarf that signals who's going to be the leader of the clan instead of her Older Brother?

I can't believe no one has mentioned RahXephon yet. That's pretty good too.

Also, Little sister is the daughter of the Clan Leader, her Older Brother is kind of like the War Chief in times of battle. It gets better later on. Flashbacks and all.

No, i've seen the whole thing.  I loved those flash back episodes.   So deep.

On a side note, I more meant in most cultures, if the father died, the Eldest Son would inherit the right to leadership.  Not, whoever his littler daughter decides to marry, by simply putting the family scarf on!  It's a wierd 5 second marraige practice is all XD

I agree with Zifei, Shingeki no Kyojin is amazing, and the plot twist that shall come to the anime soon.. Will be great :)

I'm a sucker for action/adventure/fantasy, I have seen many hundreds of anime shows, some are definitely better than others.. Off the top of my head a few I recommend...

Hunter x Hunter 2011 -Loved the original, 2011 gets through the original a bit faster, then continues passed it, can't wait for next episode every week...
Suisei No Gargantia -awesome new show! minor mecha theme but Love it so far.
Sword Art Online -Similar to .hack//sign.. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
D.Gray-Man -Action.. Adventure.. Demons.. Hell yeah? :)
One Piece -Another Action/Adventure/Fantasy, love how they explore tons of interesting places
Toriko -Same as above, but makes me a bit hungry every time I watch a new episode...
Btooom! -Had pretty interesting horror theme to it. Was an interesting show to watch, though I probably won't watch it again.

D. Gray man... I swa that.  It's good.  Very similar to Full metal alchemist in style.  Anyone else think Shortstack is just a white haired red marked Edward that doesn't blow a fuse when he's called short.

Gasaraki is a good one too.
Guilty Crown as well as Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn are pretty good too.

I've seen FMA as well, though I liked D.Gray-Man much more, Totally agree though.. I love Allen Walker (D.Gray-Man) further into the story, when he gets his "upgrade" :)

I'm going to just jump in and say.. No..

I've heard that they are great animes ect. But myself personally, i've got Zero interest in watching them because they are all like 6million episodes long and will more than likely NEVER END.

I like to watch an anime or manga that has an ending, and doesn't just keep going and going like a Duracell battery. I like the story in them, and i don't think you can have a good enough story when the story doesn't have an ending.

Every good story needs to have a Start, Middle and End..

But nice list here, sadly it's just not for me :)

Full Metal - 52 episodes?

Avatar - mm...  80 episodes 90ish with Kora included

Bleach - It started out good... but ya, dropped off.

Other full metal - Hey, I liked this one.  I liked the villains more in this one. I liked it better what pride wasn't a Bradleys son, but when he was just the product of edward. And I loved the concept homunculus = Born by failed human transmutation.   Outside of those changes, i loved the characters of the brotherhood more.

One piece - F THAT STUPID SHOW.

Lol exactly

Brotherhood just had some EPIC fight scenes and characters though, but the other one had its ups and downs. It was kind of confusing to me, and really trippy lol

Bleach is kinda bad now

Attack on Titan is AWESOME

Also damnit, I forgot to add Sword Art Online in there D: And also as far as I am concerned it ends RIGHT AFTER SEASON ONE. No exceptions

I tend to read the big 3 (Naruto/Bleach/One piece), as well as Brigadoon, Hells Kitchen, Full metal alchemist, Inuyasha, Thousand years ninetails, Beelzebub, and Fairy tail.

My two cents on anime I like, and in no particular order:

Akira (one of my faves of all time)

Bio Booster Guyver  (anime is great, do NOT watch the first live action movie...ummm..crap....watch the second one that is very similar to the anime, Dark Hero)

Lensman

Macross (all 3 chapters)

Wicked City

Doomed Megalopolis

Ninja Scroll

did I mention Akira?...yep, just checking.

I haven't watched Anime in years, so this list may be old :P  In no particular order:

Dragonball Z (guilty pleasure, have to own it)
Azumanga Daioh
Gurren Lagann
Last Exile
Wolf's Rain
Getbackers
Shingetsutan Tsukihime (for those of you who want something short with an ending)
Akira
Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed, but not Gundam Seed Destiny.
Macross Zero
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Princess Mononoke
Naruto (english subtitles, excluding Shippuden)
Cowboy Bebop (surprised this one wasn't mentioned yet.
Claymore
Lucky Star (dat opening)

I cannot remember more but I have noticed that if I enjoy the music in the opener, I am going to enjoy the show :D  Damn, now I need to and find the soundtracks to all of these shows again :(
