The Hobbit Song by Allie Goertz -

A song about being afraid of change and the unknown, and being brave anyway.

I just don't understand how they can do an Ender's Game movie. They have to change so many things...
Like they have to change Ender killing two students (the one in the beginning and the one in the showers). Heck, can they even do the shower fight scene considering how hard it would be to cover up the naughty bits? I mean, it's not like these were even minor plot points but major ones (the first death got Ender into the Battle School, the second one transferred him into Command School early). There are multiple other moments they would have to change as well. If they're also combining Ender's Shadow into this movie...I don't see how they can do so many of the plot points without significantly changing them.
I could see a well-done European version of this movie but I just can't see a Hollywood one being the same thing.

Nothing you didn't see in The Hunger Games.

I do like other people's suggestion of Freyr, especially the irony of a choosing the names of love and fertility deities for ice and desert moons. As for my own nomination:

Lion-headed Egyptian goddess of war and fire. It was said her breath created the desert. Thanks, Wikipedia!

General Discussion / Crowdfunded space telescope

This seems very Planet Explorers-esque: Apparently the company that's pioneering asteroid mining is Kickstarting an orbital space telescope open to the public.

Planet Explorers General Discussion / Re: Alpha 0.6 soon?

Think of it not as a delay, but as the aging process that produces a fine wine....

... or vinegar.

Also, from Kickstarter Update #11, the characters are going to get an updated look in Alpha 0.6 anyway.

I am the stone that the builder refused...

Huey's got mad skills.

I find it really cool that the Boondocks quotes both "I am the stone that the builder refused," which is from the Bible, and, "The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence," which is used to refute it.

/no politics, just interesting.

We're still discussing how to pull this off, it might be a case by case thing. We'll make a decision in a week or two.

Was there ever a decision made on this?

Planet Explorers General Discussion / Halfway to hardcore mode

Looks like we're halfway to the next stretch goal in the Paypal fundraiser, hardcore mode.

Yeah, I know the stretch goals are just for fun. Think we can make it to $160K it in less than a week? :D

Middle Eastern strings make everything better.

Welcome to the board! I'm glad you're enjoying the game. It's awesome to see someone so enthusiastic. Have you checked out the new music update? It's pretty sweet.

I'm sure Malus, our "governor", will also welcome your shortly.  :)

My personal faves:

I like Prima Donna a lot. Because the moon is eccentric. XD It's kind of a quirky name.

Melchior will be nice if we also get Gaspar and Balthazar, though it's not as poetic by itself.

I like Armstrong as a tribute, but perhaps a better name for a lunar base or space ship than the moon itself? Moons seem to be following a mythological theme.

(BTW, can we alphabetize the poll entries?)

Yeah, my initial comment was about the misspelling, but hey, I'll address this since you bring up a good point:

You know Zifei and company will do ALL the stretch goals except the last two ((Alien Campaign and Water/Lava physics)) regardless of how much they earned.  They've stated that on more than one occasion.

I did see that in the Kickstarter update, and it's terrific news! But even if everything's going to get done eventually, it's still fun to watch the stretch goals get met. As we get more backers, it means that interest and funding are keeping up with the additional features being put in. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that we're getting all the stretch goals regardless of amount raised, but I can't deny that I'd have been a little concerned if PE had barely scraped by getting funded, and yet was committed to including all these cool but increasingly expensive features. Thankfully, we beat the goal soundly, and more is still coming in from Paypal.

I'm loving this Paypal extension. It's yet another PE-related goalpost to obsessively keep track of. ;)

The $200,000 stretch goal, "abondoned underwater city." It didn't used to bother me at first, but the more I look at it, the more it bothers me. It's trivial, but I'm starting to go insaaaaane! You know how it is.  ;D

Normally I'd say it's not worth the trouble fixing, but if the graphic gets updated every time we hit a new stretch goal anyway, might as well fix it then, right? Also, since that otherwise beautiful stretch goal chart is one of the first things a new viewer sees upon visiting the site, it's good to leave an immaculate first impression.

I'll be super excited when we hit $150,000 because designing armor is my absolute favorite stretch goal, but also so we can get "abondoned" spelled right, finally. Abandoned, guys.

Hey, Rhin, I think that's the best video I've seen so far!
