I second that acid rain idea.... I would love that.
They already set the stage for aggressive weather with that wind barrier. It would be awesome to actually have to overcome, or 'weather' these obstacles and really drive home the point of it not being earth when you have to deal with things our bodies just would never have had the chance to adapt to.

On thinking about it.... I don't want to see the devlog locked.... but I think it SHOULD be limited to discussion with the devs and its contents and more heavily moderated. Have its own separate rules to enforce this if necessary.

It isn't exactly helping any that the relevant discussions with devs get buried under everything else. Over on the steam forums they are STILL using reasoning for their communication arguments such as stating theres been no communication for like a month... when that's hogwash.
The other problem being, some people over there just don't want to move... they see a responsibility to keep everything that's over here, on there as well. It's just my personal opinion but I see it as dev's choice.

The problem here is communication is being demanded when it's already being given. The ETA was end of april/early may.... early may came, and despite lack of free time by the community manager, communication was still given and an apology given on time.

So.... yea.


I care about the general direction of gaming also,... but picking on the wrong targets or making your arguments at the wrong times will not help this game or its community.


as too keeping our mods better informed. I second this, if only because of a few posts I seen from the mods themselves expressing similar concerns.

Steam community is up in arms about this delay with no information at all, that either I can give them, or from the devs themselves... At this point all I or anyone else can do is wait for anything at all..

steam community is a beast... it can never really be satisfied. Someone is always upset over something, and usually it's spilt milk.

yea,.. but what are the differences between cooperative and survival mode, in a multiplayer game? VS mode seems pretty self explanatory... but does survival same as the others, just more like FFA?

Generally im not impressed by the Kerbal fan base at all... at least half appear to be children who make over-sized rockets and whine about not knowing why their fat rocket cant lift off the ground. I tried a multiplayer mod with a few people and even tho they were grown adults, I still ended up having to teach basics.

And its a bit funny that they'd drop this game due to lag when a lot of kerbal players cant make the the size of ship they want without lag, or dock more than a few addons to a station. I think the kerbals are a metaphor for a large majority of the players.
So, I am not sure I would take that fan-base's tendencies with any level of seriousness.
And yea.... we need more advertising, or at least have it's presence known out there. Totally agree.
It's like after a game hits the spotlight, even for a bit- it gets swallowed back up under a cloud of other titles.

I wonder if the contests we been doing can be made the focus of some spotlight... its indirect, but it gets people involved. It might be worth a shot? Draw more attention to that and I bet we'll get somewhere.

totally agree that people like him ruin the experience.
Yet im not so sure that its a PE staff problem... as you said, a steam moderator solved the issue. And that was probably the most appropriate source to solve the problem given the extent of his behavior.
I am not fully aware of how moderation typically gets worked out between game devs and steam tho.

One thing I know about the staff is that they are 100% focused on the game. That's not a bad thing. Even this forum could use a bit more attention in certain areas, but we'll just have to make due for now.

adding levels doesn't solve much, and just creates more problems. Yarnevk already covered it all, im pretty much in full agreement here.
Character levels have also always broke immersion for me. They have their place tho

To be fair.... I have had this game for a long time now and my eyes have overlooked this mode completely in all this time... O.O

So I can kinda relate to the OP on that one. And a test feature from the item creation view itself actually would be pretty useful still "If" the devs are willing and have time. But I also agree that it should be pretty low priority due to build mode. Probably won't be done :(

if the water didn't have physics, then it wouldn't be able to flow the way it does when you break land near it. I think it would be more correct to say its physics arnt complete.

The addition of waterfalls seem to have bugged out all water in general. like if I try to expand a river's width, the water used to flow in and it worked well.... but now it automatically creates weird curves like its trying to flow into a waterfall where it shouldn't.

and the water at the layerbacks nest has always been buggy for me. Not sure on the current version but in previous ones they did something strange with the water in that area to get the place to look the way it does. It handles differently than water found elsewhere, if that makes sense. I'd just avoid that particular gold mine.
I am almost there in the current game but im expecting the layerback water to be pretty much the same as its always been, judging from your own experience.

the application of them however might be a bit more modern or futuristic even... But I know little to nothing on them.

again and again this is not true. In a simple barter system everything becomes money.  You do not want to nerf values to prohibit selling rocks, you only want to prohibit the ability to sell rocks in the early game to avoid spamming to shorten the gameplay time.

And in a barter system, you do this why? I already made a counter solution to your own that solved this issue. Showing that it can be done in either system...

I thought we just went thru this... you proposed a solution that made NPC's consume the meat you gave them... and I proposed you could simply make the factions require meat donations- or other setup contributions- before they are ready to sell.... its effectively the same thing. If the goal is to invest the player into the game before he is "freed" to do whatever he wants, then this works.

are they really failing already? sooner than I expected.

MMO's are a whole other ballgame tho....
The biggest issue with TESO was their greed, that price was ridiculous even if their costs justified it. And they were damn cocky about it as well when asked about it "We made a game and we expect to be well paid for it"
well no duh? lol.
I played in beta,... it was actually kinda fun. More fun than some singleplayer games going by minute to minute. But like any MMO, once you reach endgame, all your investments get wasted unless you push PvP,... how much will you have spent by then only to get locked out of the game when your done with it?
Some guy tried to shove it in my face that the price was perfectly reasonable and didn't understand the concept of "Maybe for you, but not for me"
