Planet Explorers ISOs / Re: Elevator concept question
« on: October 30, 2014, 08:37:13 PM »
I haven't had chance to fully test or work too much with the idea

It worked fine in a previous test with the 'rail' about 15 degrees off the vertical.

To get the top platform in the 90 degree position, you need to place it on dirt where you want the top floor to be then remove the dirt before placing the bottom platform. In theory it should be possible to have additional stops/floors.

Also the carriage needs to go almost fully through the upper floor of the building or you will drop back down when you exit.

*edit : Just did another test and it works!

The sides of the lift shaft could be filled in to hide the full carriage but the trackend/platform section needs to be exposed to allow you to get on

Asthetically it would be great if we had access to a smaller carriage to act as a lift cage

Channel tunnel Euro express eat ya heart out  ;D

This is easy to do using the the monorail has no physical rail, other than the light beam, it may work as a shuttle to a sky base/platform?

Would be really cool if Pathea could create a lift system using the existing monorail. Seems it would be a relatively easy addition...

For sure . if you can do it well, i will love it  ;)
And if you need decal for it don't hesitate to ask ..
I did my self the up one and the front decal, so if you modify it my not feet no more.

PS: no one to make the submarine sink please  :) ?!

messed with the prop configuration on you sub

The front was/is more buoyant than the rear. You almost had it, just needed to fine tune forward/down thrust balance
I have moved one prop and adjusted the direction of the others to create downward thrust and forward thrust which makes a smoother dive I think.

rear prop x2 set to 45 degree down
3rd rear prop moved forward and set to 90 degree down
front props x2 set to 55 degree down

It may still be a bit buoyant but try adding some stone or something to adjust if you want

note: had to compress the file, my file server wouldn't allow the file dl in iso format

Planet Explorers ISOs / Re: Who do I install Bios files

BISO files have their own folder

Just copy/drag them into the folder, make sure they are not in a folder within the buildingiso folder or you will not see them in game

If you have downloaded the files check that they are not zip/rar format. If they are you need to unpack them first

Could just make the 'assembly' force field keep people out or restrict visitors access rights...anything inside the base/shield is protected

Domestos, i just ave a look on your track. How do you connect them without flat ground ?
I miss something ?

I place dirt blocks under the centre of the section being placed at the height I want the track, place the track section, then I remove the dirt

Oh and do you guys have any driving tips?

Top tip : Don't crash...

F... , you get one solution, build on the water !!!

Yeah even with a system that allows the track to bridge, you still have to start on the highest point or start digging!

Just seemed easier to build on a flat surface...I just placed dirt to water level then placed track and removed dirt

Racetrack biso :

Even have the safety/rescue vehicle ready :)

Click on the picture to see more details

The demo download still seems active at version 0.72, maybe you were using an older demo and need to download again

I have never experienced the bug so maybe it is fixed as previously suggested

I built a track 16 blocks wide but it is no where near wide enough, I can't get round the corners even with a smaller engine and 4 wheel turn...I am not the best driver but even so it is way too narrow.

I will try double that and see

The track has the following modules:

Straight, bend, chicane, bottleneck and start/finish grid

*EDIT : Just tried 32 blocks wide...takes concentration but seems ok so far

Great carts :)

True, a modular BISO track would be easier to lay, I will have a look at it too. What width track do you think we need?

Sounds cool

I agree that pastaga's idea having several classes of vehicle (one per engine) would be a good idea but each class should have build rules to control thruster use etc

The track would take some co-ordination too...maybe a modular system so pieces can be laid quickly and a scalextric track. This would lead to a pretty flat track though given the current blocks available

Alternately you could just have a cross country rally? So instead of building a flat track, place barriers around a suitable area of the map, that way the track won't be flat and predictable? The barriers could be just single blocks laid out to mark the edge of the track leaving a gap cars cannot fit through to prevent cheating. It could then be decorated using player made iso and biso objects such as banners, flags advertisement boards...even spectators to make it look nice

The Hobbit Song by Allie Goertz -

A song about being afraid of change and the unknown, and being brave anyway.

Not sure any hobbit could be as scared as I was watching this...

Transparency has to be done within a graphics editor

I use Paintshop, others use Photoshop both are good but the examples that Pastaga posted will do the job. is probably the easiest to get results quickly.
