cool looking ship u have there.

1.) designated team leader: gets to decide who can stay in the team, and who can have "all" permission for changing blocks placed by others(and host should obviously over-ride anything, but optionally)

I like this idea.

something like you can apply for 'commander' or 'mayor' u need a certain amount of votes from ur team and if you get voted in u can kick players / give orders etc?

Thanks for this!, good advice I think I will build my own...

we have this place here...

hopefully they will know what they are talking about.
will check out those forums you mentioned also.

btw my video card is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M so I didn't think it was worth mentioning. PE runs great while it stays on!

thanks again mate, I appreciate your help!

General Discussion / Screw this, I think I'm gonna buy a desktop.....
« on: January 17, 2014, 11:45:37 AM »

This is nothing to do with the game, I am resigned to the fact that I have to buy a new computer, there is no easy solution to my problem. I am going to spend my hard earned dollars on a desktop this time, I need some awesome graphics so I can crank everything full for PE.

I love this game, simple. I love to play it all day on my day off sometimes, not so simple. I have a 3 year old Acer Aspire 5750G 4 gig RAM i7. It's not great but seems ok right? so after about 20 minutes or so it gets really hot and shuts itself down. This is a safety feature I guess, I have tried everything, cleaned out the vents, cooler pads, I had 2 fans and an air con with a frozen pack of peas in a towel on it... it defrosted the peas and turned itself off.

It does this for pretty much any game now, never used to. As it still works for everything else there's nothing the warranty can help me with. I was cursing at first but now I realise it's just time to upgrade. I haven't bought a computer before (yeh I'm a noob), someone else chose this laptop for me.

Any recommendations on hardware? Are there laptops designed for 12 hour gaming sessions that wont get too hot? If I do buy a laptop for some reason again it would not be an Acer and this picture is why....

thanks in advance

Planet Explorers Bugs / Re: 0.70 Pyrophobia mission problem
« on: January 15, 2014, 11:10:35 AM »

I managed to finish this I had to put the torch and the campfire on the ground near her.

Never mind...

turns out I needed to place them close to Gerdy, hope this helps someone.

Like the fertilizer quest mentioned here...

When I try to do he quest for Gerdy where you ask her if she wants to go to the martian camp, when I put a gattling gun down it doesn't register for the quest..

screenshot here...

I fast traveled there before that but not after I took the quest. Anyone else tried this or know a way around it?

thankyou in advance.

oh... so that's why it worked....

to fix that 29/30 bug (or rather to bypass it) cut down all nearby trees before starting the mission, the theory is that a tree may be blocking one of the spawning points. worked for me anyways.

I paused the game for 15mins just after I started that mission, when I unpaused it said mission complete and ammo was gone from my sentries. I had also cut all the trees down as you mentioned.

Here are a few things I have made, these are all original ideas..

ADLN Buggy

ADLN Crab Camo

ADL Six Pack

I put em all together with a bonus rifle here for you to try,,,,,,

6.1 is awesome! thanks!

some things I thought about while playing creator mode;

The paint and ink are a bit fat for writing numbers or words, how about a text option?

a scale character / alien model so I can see what it looks like while I build it would help (sometimes).

do I have a horn?

keep up the good work!

Planet Explorers Suggestions / Hello Thoughts and suggestions
« on: August 04, 2013, 01:06:23 PM »
Firstly, hello, I am new here, both to the forums and to the game.

Nice to meet you.

I bought this game three days ago, pretty much on a whim. My friends had been talking to me about Kickstarter and I have always kept my eye on open source stuff. I have played a few games Skyrim, Flyff, Wurm. I have my favourite ways to play (as do you I am sure.) I literally stumbled upon this game by accident 24.95 Aussie $ after conversion and here I am...

I have spent a couple of days browsing the forums and tried a few different things in the game. I have read the other suggestion threads and there are some great ideas coming from everyone, every suggestion makes you think whether you like it or not. Everyone has their opinion and a right to it here are my findings and suggestions (Can I add questions?)

First impressions coming into the game - it's a beautiful world

I love the WTF do I do now feeling you get when you first jump into the world!

Great Game! Cannot wait until the final product!

24.95AUD was a bargain

Create mode is great! use in game is an amazing idea! Tutorial gets you started in minutes almost a game in itself when you start making bigger stuff. (I have spent more time creating stuff than playing the game so far!)

Quests seem to work fine for me (I am only new don't forget so I have only done like three)

1. I like the fact there is no leveling up or levels . just get better sh!t or unlock learning better sh!t. Don't change that.

2. How about an Introductions and or Goodbyes on the forum? Makes it easier for noobs like me to 'break the forum ice' so to speak.

3. (I dunno if people will like this one but..) I think I can carry unlimited weight (because of test version?) Shouldn't 100 stone slow me down?

4. Be able to put stuff / other people in your vehicle? (probably don't need to if you can carry unlimited stuff.)

5. How about a world editor / map editor creator? I have read discussion about the world size and infinite world, is it necessary? Continents? Sydney to Perth is 4110km away would take you a little over 13 hours @ 300km/h. Can we drop our dirt / sand and make islands?

6. Test In Game button or Test against background button in creator.

7. As I don't think there are any Classes maybe Male / Female could have a couple of different and unique skills or traits (as simple as girls run a bit faster guys are a bit stronger - that "wish I had been the other type" moment that keeps you playing)

and some 'out there' suggestions;

8. Clothes / Face Body designer / editor ala The Sims.

9. I think one of the mobs used what looked like magic on me. Can I do that? or learn it use it on my weapon / enchant, something like that...

10. Tame the mobs so I can ride those big ones. Can I do this already?

11. Multiplayer modes - there are lots of different modes for pvp. Non pvp / pvp / war modes  in user created worlds with user created weapons and vehicles under user rules (is there a server hosting admin tool? I haven't looked at mutiplayer much.)

Thank you for reading. I hope this gave you something to read if nothing else. Would like to hear what you think. Forgive me if I have asked anything already answered.
