Title: Bug Tracker
Post by: Zifei on August 13, 2013, 07:46:25 AM
Hey everyone, try to use the bug tracker up in the menu, it should help all of us keep the bugs in a database and not repeat post bugs.

You might need to log out and back in before you can use it.

I am having issues with start up of the game.  When I click start to begin the game it begins to open with a black screen then crashes and closes out of the game.  If I mess with the game enough trying to open it, I am able to get it open but am still unable to create a char. and play the game.

This is my output_log.

Is there a way to search the bug tracker in order to quickly determine if I'm about to report a bug that's already reported?  I ain't about to go manually paging through the 192 listed right now.

I want to report that somewhere within triggering the firebear & rescue quest my game got de-activated and thus when I completed the rescue the people disappeared instead of stayed just south of the site like they're supposed to.  When I tried to launch the game again this morning that's when I discovered it'd de-activated, I re-activated it and re-ran the missions and this time it worked.

I'd like to know that too, although by my count it's 241 pages. Just some kind of keyword search that scans titles would be a huge help.

The bugtracker tab in the site menu is broken. It redirects me to the login screen (even as I am logged in) which redirect me back to the forum main page.

Thus, there is no bugtracker.

Browser: Firefox 28.0

Domains I completely block on my machine (by redirecting them to localhost IP via the hosts file):
google.com
googletagmanager.com
top-fwz1.mail.ru
ajax.googleapis.com

No no. Our issue is that we can't access the bugtracker itself, clicking the bugtracker link up at the meny directs us back to the login page, and when logging in again, we're at the homescreen of the forum.

Update! Seems like we can't use the option to stay logged in! just logged in with a 1-day timer, and now i can access the bugtracker! \o/

I wasn't posting in response to other posts, sorry. I was simply pointing out another issue. I've had no difficulty accessing the bugtracker.
The bugtracker has been updated with the 0.84 in it's dropdown though, so my problem has been resolved.

Hello! HELP ME PLEASE! i dont know what thread i should to choose... Few days ago i bought the game in steam-shop... When i try to launch it: (in left-top side of the screen):

ArgumentNullException: Argument cannot be null.

System.IO.Directory.GetFileSystemEntries (System.String path. System.String searchPattern, FileAttributes mask, FileAttributes attrs)
System.IO.Directory.GetFiles (System.String path, System.String searchPattern)
SteamWorkShop.LoadSteamItems ()
SteamWorkShop.start

and in the center of the screen:
A fatal error has occured, do you still want to continue the game? (this error affect your game save if you continue playing)
[Quit] or [Continue]

Problem N2: Why i can't set adequate resolution? (in all cases menu 50% hides in right side)

Problem N3: In any game mode my screen freezing at 100% of loading game ... ! I just can't start the game!

There is no bugtracker button.  So I can't report any bugs on 0.86.

I too am unable to access the Bug Tracker to report a bug. I tried IE and Chrome. Neither has any notable plugins running (and I tried again in Chrome Private & IE Safe mode to be sure). I have never visited the site before 10 minutes ago, but I cleared my cache anyway; no dice. There appears to be a problem with the cookie for the bug tracker; perhaps the board is not setting it correctly?

Perhaps someone who can access the bug tracker should try clearing their cache and cookies, and see if that causes the issue to start.
Since I can't access the bug tracker, I posted a screenshot of the crash (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=396797143).

I have been able to craft a request to the bug tracker with wget. The cookie MANTIS_STRING_COOKIE is the one that must be given and correct to get the ticket list instead of the redirect to login.

Example:
MANTIS_STRING_COOKIE=[a-f0-9]{64}; expires=Wed, 09 Dec 2015 13:35:33 GMT; path=/; domain=board.pathea.net; HttpOnly

Maybe someone from Pathea can fix the login process with this info.

Same issue here, I can't log into the Bugtracker. Clicking the link in the menu just takes me to a login page every time and logging in just results in me being bounced back to the forum home page.

Also the fact the bug-tracker link doesn't exist at all unless you're logged in is very confusing.

Ditto.

Bugtracker is still bugged.   Flings you back to login screen

And while I'm on the subject.
Why are you making registering so hard on the forum.
The anti-bot   questions > 1 capcha  and  4 geography questions of dubious answers.
How many planets in the solar system   8, 9 or 10  depending on when you went to school
or how you define how big a planet is.
What's the second longest river,  well   it should go Nile,  Amazon , but latest research says its
actually Amazon  Nile.

I could continue,   but you might get more active forums, bug reporting and happy end users  if you make the forum a bit easier to access.

Shame as I loved the way the game is going.

It's probably to try and cut down the amount of useless posts on the forum and questions about things that users really should just Google for the answer to.

because they have no web developer and can't figure out how to fix the SMF Mantis bridge

request log:
POST to /index.php?action=login2
response with 302 and some cookies but nothing relevant
GET to /index.php?action=login2;sa=check;member=xxx
response with 302 and no cookies
GET to /index.php
response with no cookies

if it was a client problem, somewhere there should be the required MANTIS_STRING_COOKIE in the http headers

It sends me to the login screen too

Has anyone been able to get to the bug tracker at all?

If so, what are they doing different that it works?

Does anyone know a fix?

I guess only users that logged in before day x have the required cookie. There's not much activity on the bugtracker at the moment, many users are locked out and the devs are busy with the u5 port i guess.

The cookie MANTIS_STRING_COOKIE is the one that must be given and correct to get the ticket list instead of the redirect to login.

Example:
MANTIS_STRING_COOKIE=[a-f0-9]{64}; expires=Wed, 09 Dec 2015 13:35:33 GMT; path=/; domain=board.pathea.net; HttpOnly

This is caused by Mantis upgrading. We'll contact them and have a fix asap.  :D

I can't enter to bug tracker page always asking to login , after that it takes me back to the main forum page

Try to register again if the bug tracker still bans you. Because your account might be activated during the time when the board and bug tracker is disconnected.

Title: Okay so the bugs I have found so far is.
Post by: ShawShade on December 27, 2015, 09:31:27 PM
These are bugs I have found so far with the A0.9 update.

(1) I put down the bed I was given at the start and when I came back to my crashed ship the bed was gone. However when I saved my game and loged off of it and relaoded it it was back.

(2) I was using the storage chests at my crashed ship and the one with the Doc and when I loaded my game everything I had put into it was gone but everything that was in it the first time was back in it. so I tested to see if it would keep replacing the stuff in it and it does. So you can get all the meat you need from the chest at your crashed ship by looting it saving and reloading your game over and over.

(3) Some of the NPCs that you can get missons / quests from their missons / quests are not working right all the time. You will get the misson but you can not see what you need to do so you can finish it. I aborted the misson / quest and talked to the NPC again and got a new one from it that worked.

As to the third one, can you specify the exact missions?

If I remember right it was the NPC by Allen that gives the first mission / quest to kill four creatures it was the second mission that was not working right. Sorry I do not remember the NPCs name.

Another bug I found this morning when I logged on is my character had many kinds of sickness's that I did not have when I logged on to the game that I did not have when I saved and logged off last night. Also the two NPCs that I have following me are now have a hunger bar at 0 then they did not when I logged off last night. I am having to spend more food on keeping them up and there is no way to have them rest with out buying stuff from Allen to put their comfort level up. Which makes it to where I have to grind killing things for meat and pick everything I see to make the stuff to keep their comfort and hunger up all the time.

Found another one, While I was mining I was getting infected for no reason or is this meant to happen. I was at the crater that you find when Allen sends you to find the two NPCs that went out looking for other.

We'll readjust those debuff parameters in later patches.

Just asking, any idea when the next patch will be happening?

They've theoretically finalized the update at this point and are performing last minute tests to make sure nothing explodes.. If everything goes alright, we should hope to see the update release within a day or two.

I was in build mode not sure if that is why this happened but I freed one of my follower so I could build with out him in the way and I got a fatal error which crashed my game. I was building around the camp that Allen is at.

After you fixed the big fish quest, one of the ones immediately following it broke :p

After you are attacked by a group of the fish, you get a mission to regroup on the surface. It is considered a follow mission but she just swims around in the underground lake and does not follow you.

Some other stuff related to that segment I guess.

- Can the flare gun work underwater or powerful placeable lights or something? It is really dark and the things I tried except using a submarine did not help.

-When I used a submarine I half-assed it because I was just experiment. I just slapped a ballast tank onto a basic raft and used it. IDK if you can do anything about it, but it was weird that that was possible and that it provided me with oxygen in that state. Gameplay wise, because it was a tight space I was using my sub more as a portable light/air canister than anything else, which is fine with me, but I don't know if you are ok with abuse of the interdimensional space in your inventory.

-First person, at least for vehicles, pls. Way too often the vehicle itself gets in the way.

-The knockdown attack/death knockdown the fishes use act as if you are on the ground, deserves its own animation.

-Also if there are going to be knockdown attacks, don't force me to sheath my weapon when it happens. That is just annoying.

- Collision or something is weird on the tailfin, attacking it almost never inflicts damage.

-Agnes kept walking on walls underwater.

-The jetpack fires underwater.

-Alt does not let you sink underwater. That might be intentional, but it causes way too much grief to maneuvering so pls change it.

-I actually managed to get agnes to the surface by using an exploit: the voxel painting tool in build mode lets you delete terrain voxels when you select pointer and press tab with a terrain voxel selected.

-I noticed as I was running around trying to make it work that there were many big fish in the lake, but none in the underground part...

-to make it a bit easier to find the exit to the underground lake, some sort of light effect would be nice. with the engine, Sunlight doesn't make it that far, but I imagine you could add something manually?

-Underwater is boring. Underwater harvestables please! Ooh, maybe you could have clam things that give pearls that can be sold, but are pretty rare. Would encourage you to pay attention, at least.

Not sure if it should work this way, but in multiplayer we can not put things back into the storage to trade items with each other. We have put the things in the storage and logged out and back in and the items were back in our inventory and not in the storage every time. Also we have had the problem with the followers not following the person that asks them to follow the run to one of the other players and start following them. And then we have also had it so that there was a follower following us and there was not one there.

Thank you for all the work you guys have done I am enjoying the game still and liking the changes you guys have made, Just not liking that I can not change hot keys for the ones you have locked. Keep up the good work everyone.

AO . 913 hotfix bugs

well.. got new bugs.. first of all now when you start a new game(story mode) , there are flyers all over the place.. making it extremely difficult to survive in the start.
The base defense quest keeps repeating with chen so i am stuck there .. i started new before patch.. it was normal and no problem..
Started a new game after latest patch, but now it's a big problem after this last patch.. no way getting 30 points  because huge animal arrives , killed it and wave is over .. about max 12-15 animals appear , not enough to ever get 30 points .. turret kills do not add to points

Also when quiting the game to desktop , game freezes , have to ctr-alt-delete and force it to quit

Loading a game(other character/save) freezes game at certain intervals.. like it tries to load parts of the game while walking , but keeps freezing/hiccups.. after 30-60 seconds ,, character stuck in place.. can't move left or right.. restarting the game totaly fix it.

Also i have tiny hiccups all the time playing the game. like a hiccup every 5 seconds , i know this might be because background loading .. it's annoying but playable .. still 60fps tho

Windows 7 pro - 64 bits
i7 -4770k 3.50 Ghz
ADM R9 270x Gaming - 4GB version
16Gb memory
Also i am very confused at choosing the OpenCl calculation.. there are 4 options.. but don't see much of a difference

I had this as well, but it corrupts all my auto saves and any saves while on the quest (they disappear and it won't let you save anymore). Chen kept going back to my colony, so had to walk him back from half a map away. On the last part of recon, when everyone runs away, the dialogue seems to forget what my name is, and a few times all i saw was alot of ####.

The first time this happened, i only noticed it after i tried to fast travel to my colony after i had turned in the quest at the martian colony, but instead of fast travel, it completely restarted the game and i woke up on the beach again, as a women without a name. That freaked me out almost as much as going to the load screen and seeing only 1 save still there, from about an hour before. Luckily sometimes i remember to stagger my saves so i didn't lose the 150+ hours i've put into this one.

That one save i had left was at my colony, the first time i went back to get chen. The saves i lost i was in the martian colony, or actually out where the quest was.

Wish i could help more, but i already lost 4 hours to this (i tried it twice and both times erased all but 1 save) before i canceled the mission.

in the most recent update there are still some missions as work in progress for example the proximity radar mission, i started the proximity radar mission and went to talk to Nan but he always sais work in progress and the mission gets finished, is this a mainline story mission or is it a side quest that will be finished in a later update?

Adventure Mode with skill tree enabled
Unable to craft items beyond wood

I am new and I hope my post is acceptable. Bought this on steam and started playing.

Once points are assigned I am still unable to craft or use items hire than the wood level. The craft block is grayed out for items even though the mining level in skill tree is maxed and is above the level of the item.

Tried reading forums and googling but no luck. I cant progress with the skill tree version because of this.

So far a rad world and enjoying running around but without being able to build or mine I am stuck.

I didnt know about the that you need to level up that too. From the names of things my thoughts were that it comes later for energy items and fuel cells like the image. Thanks guys will try when I get a chance

This is backwards.. shouldn't the most recent post be on the front page so that we don't have to go all the way to the end of the thread...

Anyway I'm still getting stuck @ Wiles Camp after the latest update which is frustrating seeing that I had to start all over for the 3rd time & spent a day getting to the quest "looking for survivors"

I thought that this bug was fixed or I would have taken a break from this wonderful game in which I am totally addicted.. BTW this blows NMS out of the water!

Hello everyone, I encountered such a problem: we are trying to play a license with a friend on the network, I create a server, the friend connects without problems, but only he has problems with textures, there is no ship and he does not see me and plants are taken, trees are not cut. At me he costs or stands on a place and does not move. and the problem is seen in coop mode, story, in coop adventure there are no such problems. is there a solution to this problem?
