Title: Sparring
Post by: Wards on February 14, 2018, 03:29:02 AM
It would be nice if the townsfolk scaled with you so sparring was actually worth it. It's a fun mechanic for social interactions but you don't only not get much from it but it is also stupid easy (thus no point) after level 20; even the best in town are boring.

Anyway, sorry if this was already discussed. Looked for a second.

Honestly, I see sparring as a means to get social points, not really as a mini-game.  I'm fine with it becoming easier to get the points quickly, because I'm looking for the points more than the fight.  As a means to gain social points, it is very worthwhile.  With the fair fight perk, you can get around 8-15 extra points per day on someone you are trying to work up to buddy level.

I can see, though, how people who like to spar might get more out of a leveled opponent.  I would keep the villagers as they are and maybe have an arena for leveled combat, for the sake of the fight.

You do know about the Hazardous Ruins, right?  I think that as you progress through the levels, there will be opportunities to add more levels there for harder bosses.  That's kind of like an arena combat, and you do get a lot of loot as a reward.  It does need to be updated for higher levels (new dungeon levels).  I think the highest right now is level 20 or so.

At the least, as far as citizens are concerned, having the three "militia" people scale would be a good idea. If you want to get extra buddy points from them, (which I didn't notice as a reward for winning, hmm) it'd be a little harder, which isn't a huge deal, idk.

Yeah, I just spam Hazardous Ruins for small engines and tempering liquid (Helps with water engine missions and any mission with tempered glass or that blender dirt that requires the liquid). Would be cool to see other levels with different bosses that aren't so easy to beat once you get his pattern down.
